TheHunter Classic
TheHunter Classic
user avatar@elcazadorcazado
My name in the community is elcazadorcazado, and I have been playing theHunter Classic for 11 years. For me, this game was never just a hunting simulator. It was a place I kept coming back to again and again. A place where I learned patience, how to enjoy the silence, how to follow a track for a long time, and how to feel real excitement for every trophy earned. Many games come and go, but very few stay with you the way this one did. For years, I made YouTube videos for the Spanish-speaking community, trying to help new hunters understand the game, its reserves, weapons, animals, and that very special way of hunting that Classic had. I also had the opportunity to create a Discord community called La Cabaña, where many players came together to share experiences, questions, trophies, stories, and friendship. theHunter Classic was not perfect, but it was unique. It had something that no other hunting game has managed to capture in the same way. It was not just about logging in and shooting; it was about walking, listening, waiting, missing, learning, and trying again. It made you feel like you were truly inside the reserve. That is why it hurts to think that it could disappear forever. I am not speaking only out of nostalgia, but because of everything this game meant to many of us. For some, it was entertainment; for others, it was community; and for many, it was part of an important season of our lives. I would love for GOG to help preserve theHunter Classic, so new generations can discover it, and so those of us who loved it for so many years can keep returning to those reserves that gave us so many memories. The servers may be turned off someday, but I hope the story of this game will not be turned off with them. With respect and gratitude, elcazadorcazado

Realistically sony is not going to remake/remaster the game in the near future, I believe this is the way to keep the game alive along with the original demon souls

It was a summer evening in '97. I was a Nintendo 64 kid delighted to finally have a new-gen console. I'll never forget the sheer jealousy and disappointment I felt when I opened up the E3 1997 supplemental book that came with the August 1997 issue of EGM (the one with Luke Skywalker from Star Wars: Masters of Teräs Käsi) and saw a little screenshot for Breath of Fire III...coming ONLY to PlayStation. I just got a N64, there's no way in heck I could convince my parents to get me a PS1 that soon! I'd get the BoFIII strategy guide, despite not having the game or console, and read it front to back, spoiling myself of every major story beat. It's not like I was going to be playing any time soon! It was a lot of waiting, but finally in August 1999 I got a PS1 and Breath of Fire III was my 2nd game (after FFVII). I was blown away by the upgrades in pixel art and animation, vocal cries emanating from my characters as they battled in turn-based combat that took place on the field without a screen transition, a world map devoid of random encounters (hallelujah!), a unique pop/jazzy hybrid soundtrack that I didn't fully appreciate until I got older, a heavily addicting, VERY GOOD...GREAT fishing minigame that you could sink hours into for awesome rewards, a story that took you for a rollercoaster ride of emotions and twists, a dragon gene combination system that still remains the series' greatest dragon transformation system, characters with very distinct personalities and skill sets, and so much more. It took me a whopping 60+ hours to finally finish BoFIII, and I loved it. I want others to experience it, too.

I am sure it can be downloaded as abandonware, but just think how cool it would be to have it and Primal Hunt in GoG collection. It is one of best games in Alien/Predator universe. Story is good and characters are written well.

I graduated HS with the guy who created the soundtrack, Chris Vrenna formerly of NIN. Bought the disc when the game hit the shelf! The game itself is glitchy and needs some work, BUT the soundtrack is fantastic and worth the price, IMO.

I remember facing off against a clan of 20 or so players with just me and 3 others battling it out in space in big group fights, was so much fun. If the game comes to live here please offer the standard Vanilla experience as well as the more modern HD experience. Include the still existing modding community who still mod the game now even 20+ years later and have been around since the game released.

I've always enjoyed playing Fable 3, but everytime, usually every year or two, i get the urge to play it, it gets more and more difficult to set it up. So if this game manages to arrive in GOG, and the installation is as easy as it normally is on GOG, I'd be so hsppy.

To this day LoD fans come together to share stories, fan works, and special community projects! This includes an unofficial port for PC and SteamDeck called Severed Chains, which has received widespread praise for demonstrating what's possible with carefully channeled passion. Wildstar was amazing and had major hiccups on release when it was switched to free to play and had a soft re release it was too late! It’s the level or hardcore and fun everyone is wanting now! It was an amazing memory for me and my friends back in 2014 and the few years it was out back then! There’s a small community building a private server but nothing is close to what could happen with a big backer!

Black and white, and in particular Black and White 2 for me are such unique games. They are the peak of Lionhead and there has been nothing like this since. I remember getting the chance to play it with my friends who had the first 'gaming rig'. Hopefully if it gets released, and with a positive following then companies like EA will see there is still a considerable opportunity to create a Black and White 3. For me it's a no-brainer when considering assessments on where the big corporates should invest their money.

The best of the original quadrilogy (Yes, I am counting The Room), in my opinion. I know the 2nd game gets it's flowers (deservedly so), but this is the one that got me to love the series. Great atmosphere, level and art design.

Don't let Steam fool you; the "director's cut" of this game, the most accessible way to obtain it, is pretty terrible and is an overall worse port with multiple downgrades. I was thankful to get a copy in my steam library and i have never forgotten its amazing protagonist and great mechanics that modernize Deus Ex in a tasteful way. The original port deserves to be preserved in all its golden filter goodness.

This was the game that my brother put me to play when i was a kid, i always loved the OST from Yoko Shimomura and the combat will always have a place in my heart due to me being in love with turn-based jrpgs, also Aya is one of the most badass MC in survival horror (IMO), great story with fun elements and masterpiece OST. Please bring it to PC, there would be nothing better than having it DRM-free forever.

Sweetest soundtrack in RTS. Fix the main menu issues, add widescreen support, put all three discs + map packs in one package, get multiplayer up and it'd be sick. Your choice is simple, for the moment.
Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas

Having this on GOG is golden! You wouldn't need Steam to show your track time, you don't need the damn Rockstar Game Launcher that Sam Houser implemented and it's much better than the one Grove Street Games remastered on! Problem is, the licensing on the music is a B!tch to deal with for GOG and for it to work with unofficial fix like, CookieMonsterPL Silent Patch and G-Input and ThirteenAG Widescreen, it needs to be downgraded to the v1.0 release. Which is the Hot Coffee enable version of the game. Yeah, Sam Houser is never gonna escape that scandal now, that soppy pr!ck.

This game is simply wonderful. It's so rare nowadays that they sell copies on certain websites for roughly $300 and some are going for 2000$. This game is precious, I have known it for a long time and I will protect it with my life. Hopefully all of the features in the good old PC version is retained because the PC version at the time was the best. Being able to make your own custom hero was one of the great features.

Playing GTA San Andreas was pure freedom. I’d ride bikes through Grove Street, climb Mount Chiliad, and skydive over the countryside. The gang wars, jetpacks, and customizing CJ made every moment unique. Cruising to Today Was a Good Day while causing chaos? Truly iconic gaming memories!

Freelancer
FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Frequently Asked Questions
Learn more about GOG Dreamlist with our FAQ
What is GOG Dreamlist?
GOG Dreamlist is a community-based tool anyone can use to vote for the games they want to see revived or added to our platform. These votes help GOG demonstrate community interest to IP owners and bring these games to life on our platform.
How does voting work?
Find a game on the list and click the arrow button to cast your vote. You can do so directly from the main page or a game's card. Every vote helps shape our platform and supports game preservation, so make it count!
How do I add a game to the Dreamlist?
If you cannot find a game already on the list please use this form to add it to the list for everyone to vote.
Can I vote for more than one game?
Yes, you can vote for multiple games, but only once per game.
Why should I vote?
Each vote shows community interest and signals to IP owners that releasing their game on GOG is a valuable opportunity.
How can I learn about the status of the game on the Dreamlist?
Currently, we can’t disclose the business status of a game before its release due to the complexity of the process and the potential negative impact this could have on our efforts. However, we’re working on a feature that will let you track the games you’ve voted for once they’re released.
Does high number of votes for a game mean that it will be released sooner?
A high number of votes shows strong interest, which influences both GOG and IP owners. However, we can’t guarantee that every highly-voted game will be released.
How does my vote help to preserve games?
All games on GOG are DRM-free, so you can download and back them up for future use. Additionally, we aim to include as many games as possible in the GOG Preservation Program, ensuring classic titles remain playable on modern systems.
What happens with Stories once the game is released on GOG?
We’re working on a solution to migrate Stories to GOG.COM game cards once the game is released: we won’t let them get lost.
