This game truly made me feel like I'm rewatching the best sci-fi tv shows.
So you've got a ship, and a crew of badasses living on it. Everyone of them is written so well, of course some worse, some better, but there is one "flop" so to speak. Nevermind that, the game takes you to different unique locations and they are usually tied to your crew's personal missions or the main mission. ME1 is pretty straightforward, go from point A to B, but it's ME2 that shines, best part of the entire trilogy. Illusive Man, "Trinity" and the bar with a dance floor, Tali, speeding through town after some baddie in a flying car, it all made for a really awesome experience back then. I doubt it will make an impression on people today like then, but still the story is awesome. Loved the bubbly character of Tali, romance options are plentiful, some weird anatomically... but hey, you want it, you've got it, it's the feelings that count yeah? (It's a game, but I don't see it, how can you fall in love with a UFO, lol). Loved the YTber Manslayer who made awesome... content about popular games back then, including this one and Skyrim. Good times.
ME3 was awesome too, but I remember it like through a fog, because of a very huge controversy, damn you star child! Anyway, play it!
Oh, and the music, the music is just incredible, it fits what's happening on the screen, the entire suicide mission piece deserves a BAFTA award all on its own.
Anyway, for new players - ME1 isn't something special, but man oh man, ME2 really took it to another level. ME3 kept that level, adding some of its own memorable scenes. If you haven't, play it, you won't regret it.
