2001 was not an easy year. Frankly, it was a year of existential struggle. But Oni was there. I remember the experience with fondness - one of the few games I was never satisfied in playing through only once, but would loop the story just to enjoy the fighting more. It had all the elements of genius, the fighting felt meaty, and the particular bosses that gave me pause - Mukade in particular - were just the right kind of frustration for me to keep trying and trying.
The old CDs have gone long since. I thought I would repurchase the game to relive the memories, but... well. Maybe one fine day, the opportunity will be granted to us. Thanks to GoG and all the enthusiasts pushing for it!
