Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos is a real-time strategy game set in the high fantasy world of Azeroth. Players control one of four factions, the Human Alliance, Orcish Horde, Night Elves, or Undead Scourge, each with unique units, structures, and hero characters that gain experience and abilities through combat. The single-player campaign follows a sequential narrative across four faction-specific chapters. Multiplayer is supported through Battle.net with ranked matchmaking. The game includes a World Editor that allows players to create custom maps and scenarios, which gave rise to influential community creations including the mod Defense of the Ancients.

I won't be gushing long about this. I'm fairly sure right now anyone interested KNOWS what Warcraft 3 is, what made it special. It stood out across all RTS titles. I've spent countless hours, days, coming back to this game. Playing custom maps made by other players, replaying the campaign, playing versus other players. Then Reforged came, Blizzard shut down the classic Warcraft 3 as we knew it. They forced upon everyone to use the Reforged client, even to play the classic version. That introduced a lot of bugs, issues, we lost certain functionalities from the game (custom campaigns were unavailable for a long time, ranked games too if I recall correctly). In Reforged, the main menu is a Chromium application. People (I'm the people) want the classic back, as an independent client. Without the mess that Reforged introduced. If GOG will ever get the chance, and does this, I can with great confidence say, a lot of people will cry out of joy.Aranoor

Simply, the best game I have ever played in my life, It was there since my early childhood. I love the story, I love the gameplay, I love the music, I love Arthas, I love custom maps by the community. It deserves more love along Frozen Throne. I cannot imagine myself having this hobby in general, playing games, if it was not by this game. It's shameful that it can no longer be played legally, and they just force you to play a remaster. That's isn't fair at all. With this game I have met the best ground friend ever, and I just wish to be able to play this games like it was before.

This and Frozen Throne were generational. In my country, absolutely every young gamer played it at some point. Absolutely, legendary, ganre defining game. Just like with StarCraft, it's being mishandled by Blizzard. Prying it off ACTIBLIZZ's claws would be absolutely heroic.

i loved playing this game on my fathers old laptop, id love to be able to expierence it again on GOG and on my modern system. id also love to see more of this game than like the first level i saw as a 7 year old.

I will NEVER forgive Blizzard for what they have done to this game with that GARBAGE "remake"! I want to relive my childhood glory days playing this original masterpiece, by myself AND with my brothers and friends. I want to revisit Lordaeron and Kalimdor, to relive memories that will fade in time. PLEASE do not let this happen to me, give me back that which was stolen!

Before the era of MOBAs and sprawling open-worlds, Warcraft III defined what real-time strategy could be. Released in 2002, it was more than just a technical marvel—it was a storytelling powerhouse that gave us iconic characters that even nowadays are remembered. Its blend of RPG elements and RTS mechanics helped lay the groundwork for future Blizzard hits and even games and mods for totally different games. Unfortunately, the release of Warcraft III: Reforged—with its downgraded visuals, missing features, and forced replacement of the classic client—made it harder than ever to legally play the original version. That’s a huge loss and i think many fans (myself included) are still hurt about it. The classic Warcraft III deserves a standalone, DRM-free release. Not just for nostalgia’s sake, but because it's a masterclass in design, balance, and atmosphere. It’s a piece of gaming history that should be preserved and made accessible in its original form. GOG would be the perfect home for it.

I love this game, in fact it's my first PC game, and now I want to play it again, how nostalgic for God's sake... remembering the old days. Now I just hope the guys can make an excellent remaster of this great video game!

This game, with the original Spanish (from with Spaniard voice actors) was a moment of awe to me as an 8 year old, this game taugth me videogames were art, that they could made me feel things, things like awe for characters like Arthas, like admiration for absolutely crooked characters like Maiev, empathy for wronged charactars like Prince Kael'Thas, a sense of loss for blood thirsty killers like Grom Hellscreem (and a flaring interest in women (elf women)), all done with masterful voice acting. This with its older graphics is way better than the stupidity of the Reforged where all 3D models are just needlessly ornate and have a visual weight that make them hard and even cumbersome to look at. To have this one, in my account, forever, to forever download, as my own with the voice acting that I like... you can put a price on it, and I will pay it.

I so much agree with this!! The Reforged version pretty killed the original game, and now if you want to play the original, you need 'alternative' ways to do it. Long live the original WC3!!
