GOG.com is a digital distribution platform – an online store with a curated selection of games, an optional gaming client giving you freedom of choice, and a vivid community of gamers. All of this born from a deeply rooted love for games, utmost care about customers, and a belief that you should own the things you buy.

Currently there is no way to disable GOG Galaxy updates. Since users are supposed to have control over their own computers and GOG Galaxy is promoted as the optional client, it needs to have this ability.
I want to decide when to update. You only need to tell me once. Daily prompts to update are extremely obnoxious and unwanted.
Yes please. It tells me to update to 2.0.98 while I am already at 2.0.98. The update fails. I can't find an option to disable checking for updates.
Kind of sus how things stand at least 4 years after this wish was created. Maybe people just don't use galaxy at all?
Fully agree, it is super annoying!
It especially annoys me that it's constantly asking me to install a beta version, not even a stable release.
the daily prompts to update are incredibly obnoxious, at least let us set a frequency to 'snooze' the update later on...
At the very least disable the notification that keeps poping up. I've had it do so while typing on the forums. I don't want to see an update be triggered because I was typing a message.
