GOG.com is a digital distribution platform – an online store with a curated selection of games, an optional gaming client giving you freedom of choice, and a vivid community of gamers. All of this born from a deeply rooted love for games, utmost care about customers, and a belief that you should own the things you buy.

I will be very happy, if the game's coverart (from description sheet) will be high quality and downloadable content.

it would be so cool
This sure became extra relevant now that Sony is killing discs. Maybe even an opportunity for some viral marketing with people showing off their legit physical PC games ;)
or make nice digital copies of the old ones and exclusive to GOG Patreon
please GOG, we need this game cover feature.
With the amount of people discovering that GOG allow to download offline installers and all it would be awesome that GOG give us tools to make custom covers or even make them therselves
This is cool, old-fashioned but cool. Imagine using that in VR and having all the games being here like an object, that's totally not what the original wishlister wanted it for but this is the way how the past may suddenly spill into the future somehow.

gogcovers.com use to be good, but now doesn't work. Why is that?
www.gogcovers.com/
would also be nice to be able to upload, share and vote on user created covers.I realized that for example the cover for Dex Enhanced version actually shows the cover for Dex Demo in the Galaxy 2.0 beta.
Yes please do. See also "boxart" wish thread.
THIS! Just yesterday I found a folder over here on GOG with so many GOG DVD covers that they could easily add as extra downloadable content.
I just noticed that GOG's movie The Gamers: Directors Cut has DVD cover as included bonus content. This will be awesome if DVD covers will be included for games as well.
this will be an awesome option, WITH the GOG logo, and to the guy who said he see no reason for it, well first, i have a lot of games and I dont want all that wasted space on my harddrive, and second, and this is important for GOG, it saves bandwith, cause less people would need to redownload games.
As Nice_Boat says: "I would love this. With a non intrusive gog.com logo, and as some other says, the same style in all of them, so we can have it as a collection, a gog.com collection :D"
That would be really useful on PCGamingWiki.
A high resolution, poster size image would be a really great addition to the freebies.
This is a great idea !
There's even some awesome covers on the forums! www.IMasap.com
This really shouldn't be too difficult for them to implement. The 3rd-party LGOGDownloader tool for Linux already downloads high-resolution cover art unless you tell it not to so it should just be a minor tweak to the website to include that cover image under the list of extras so web users can click it and the official GOG Downloader knows to grab it.
Would be the best extension of bonus content I can think of right now. Everything else is there, just this trivial material isn't...
I admit I hadn't really noticed this before I stumbled across this suggestion, but I'm honestly surprised this isn't already done. There's obviously some art in a box shape for each game we buy in our collection, but since a lot of my games I never saw in real life, I'm going on faith that's the official box art, and there's nothing for the back of the boxes. I assume this is because of copyright, or alternately there was no box art for pure digitally released games.
After I purchase a game from GOG I download it then burn it on DVD so that I have an Archived copy. When I do this I created a .txt file that explains what each file is (Since sometimes there can be a lot of extra content.) and list the version number, etc.And also I download the games box/title image and place it in a folder with the files and file details .txtMaking the image easier to download (Or even better yet including the original box art) would be very welcome. ^_^Some games had amazing box art!!! :D
I have to assume you guys want to sell bootleg copies of the games you buy here because there's no other logical reason to want this. If you are an odd person who wants to print out a copy of the cover and burn a disc to put on your shelf for some bizarre reason then please do that on your own.
Actually complete box art.
I would love this. With a non intrusive gog.com logo, and as some other says, the same style in all of them, so we can have it as a collection, a gog.com collection :D
Include the GOG page banner in the downloadable extras for each game.
Wow! It's a great and very useful work, thank you for the link (and thanks to the authors too)!

yeah, just put available boxart/covers in the bonuses.
Although I actually love GOG for the fact that I can install my favourite games whenever I have an internet connection I'd actually totally dig this, at least for bigger releases such as The Witcher 1 & 2, Assassin's Creed or the newly released Alan Wake. Of course I'd prefer if they were customized for the GOG release (consistent style, GOG logo, same description on the box as in the store) and also contained labels for the discs, both for the gaming discs and the bonus content.
yeah! this is one of the bare essentials! So we wont get the box, cd, custom art, soundtrack cd etc...we have to burn them ourselves...check!...no custom tracklisting?...NO FRONT OR BACK COVERS! D: now burnt dvd looks like pirate dvd....boo! boo!
I would really appreciate such a feature. I like to see my collection in the shelf. Therefore I burn the downloaded games on DVD and place them next to the retail versions. Probably it's unnecessary, but I like to have something physical in my possession. :)
There's even some awesome covers on the forums!www.gog.com/en/forum/general/unofficial_dvd_covers_list
This. I save full-color frontpage banners, but I only have about 7 months' worth of them.
