Silent Hill 3 is the third installment in the Silent Hill series. Like the previous entries, Silent Hill 3 is a survival horror combining action-based combat and puzzle-solving, but is somewhat more combat-oriented than the preceding installments. The main character is able to side-step and block some attacks, but in general shares with the other protagonists of the series their relative ineptitude in combat.

People tout Silent Hill 2 as the quidessential horror experience, and it's a wondefful classic game no doubt, but maybe I'm just different because Silent Hill 3 is still better imho. There was something about beng a young female protagonist that just hit different, perhaps because she was more scared of the monsters than Harry or James and seemed more of a victim...at first anyway. Heather is a bona fide badass and to me is one of the best protagonists in the entire silent hill franchise. I would love to have an official modern pc port of this game. Please if you can do this one, you've already got sh4 so I urge you to GO FOR ITluvpenguins316

for horror fans it hits all the notes, amazing story and it leaves ytou remembering the game even after you beat it it has a powerful lurer and i give this game a 10/10 please make this happen with silent hill 1,2,3 originals that would be a game changer

own this on xbox one s, bought the digitil hd collection a few years ago for a great price, my fav memories are the boss fights and haunted house! the game offers great replayabilty from diffferent difficulty options to unlocking outfits , 4/5 different endings and hidden unlocked items weapons like agreen sabre ! im not a fan of the story anyway, not yet, thats aruably my biggest gripe and yes i beat god in under 2 minutes why should this be on gog? if gog is classic, then this is classic

Silent Hill 3 marks the beginning of my journey as a PC gamer. I discovered it through a promotional demo CD included in a gaming magazine. Even within that brief slice of gameplay, the atmosphere absolutely captivated me. I replayed that demo endlessly until it became the first game I ever spent my own money on. I went on to finish it multiple times, exploring every single ending. Back in the day, internet cafes were filled with nothing but standard FPS titles, but this game opened my eyes to how vast and deep video games could truly be. As I grew up, it became the very first and still my absolute favorite masterpiece that made me realize video games are art. We cannot let these stories and pieces of art disappear

I used to love playing it on ps2 when I was little. Sadly I can't find it listed anywhere but the illegal sites. And I don't want to get it illegally. Please bring this masterpiece back.

the best videogame ever!!! silent hill 3 means so much to me and i would love to own a digital copy. heather mason is an inspiration and the story is perfect. the horror makes you pee your pants, full of liminal spaces, scary monsters and a HAUNTING atmosphere. oh my god, the atmosphere. not to mention the soundtrack, breeze in monochrome night is a beautiful masterpeice alongside every other song. also the replay value is crazy, theres so many weapons and items and outfits to unlock that make each new playthrough even more fun. i love fighting monsters with the lightsaber wearing the princess heart outfit. PLEASE GOG bring this 10/10 phenomenal masterpeice to your platform!

This thing was my entire childhood and it helped so much in overcoming depression during that era... i will be hella grateful if this one somehow makes its way into GOG Galaxy, TBH

This is aruably the best of the franchise. I am so greatful that Silent hill got picked back up with F. Silent hill 3 deserves to be preserved in it's original format. Cheryl is one of the best protagonists in gaming in my opinion. I remember being enamored with the twisted story playing the hd collection on my 360. Truely one of the greats in terms of narrative and charecter design.

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
