Story:
The players control the heroes or villians from the famous Lord of The Rings movies. With a hero characters similar to the Warcraft series you control both the armies and all the unique heroes. The game follows the movies very closely and even got scenes from the films appear in game. Not only does the game contain a giant campaign where you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, the game also features an evil campaign where as the players play as the evil forces of Middle Earth. With multiple diffrent races from all over Middle Earth, a giant spell tree to customize your game and a unique basebuilding layout the game was great for its time.

This game is a gem of the RTS genre, I still have the original media here... but no media player on my new pc =/ It's loaded with reference to fans of both Peter Jackson's trilogy and die hard LoTR book series. It'd mean a lot to have Battle for Middle Earth preserved in a digital format.

For me this game is part of the video game heritage of Tolkien's Books and Peter Jackson's movies. A lot of atempts were made to bring this universe to our PC's and Consoles, but Battle for Middle Earth is the most satisfying for me. I even want to say, a lot EA games form that time deserve to be revived and BFME series is one of them. My best memories are clearly the epic battles on the Helm's keep and Minas Tirith maps.

Das erste Strategiegame das mich richtig abgeholt hat. In Minas Tirit meine Gebäude zu errichten umgeben von den Wehranlagen..... bombastisch! Das will ich wieder erleben!!

A timeless classic that is a reminder of the movies as they are. Please bring this and Battle for Middle Earth 2 back from the dead. The design maybe very Command and Conquer like but it's the immersion that really brings it alive.

One of my alltime-favorite RTS. The game did a great job capuring the atmosphere of LOTR. Playing through missions like the battles at Helm's Deep and Minas Tirith or commanding your heroes through the mines of Moria was just awesome. For me, Battle of Middle-Earth is one of the most memorable and also most enjoyable RTS I ever played. I'd really love to see this absolute classic to be available at GOG.

The best LOTR video game ever, along with the sequel and the Expanions! One of my favorite RTS for sure, with a Good and Bad campaign. Vivid memories that we cannot relieve because EA produced the games and lost the license (something legal like that), and now we cannot buy it digitally anywhere! Please bring them back in digital form, and thank you for your efforts.

One of the best strategy games out there. I have not found an RTS game like this where it also takes your armies and the upgrades you gave them and carries them over to other battles. I played this so much in the past and I miss being able to play this amazing game.

Flashback to school days I had build my first PC with almost 1mbps internet speed and my only source for games was street vendors selling pirated discs. Middle-earth 1 & 2 was my one of the games at that time which i loved it damn Time flies!

Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Fable IIISet 50 years after the events of Fable II, the continent of Albion (where the Fable series is set) is under the control of Logan, a tyrant king and the Hero's older brother[1].
