ortewor: *snip*
I haven't played KCD2 yet, so I'm not going into that discussion.

bluethief: Apparently, it may cost up to 1 million dollars to have a 3 minute trailer aired in the show.
Correct. 400k for a minute, or a HOT deal of 1 mil for 3 minutes. Money must flow.

If the reported E33 budget is to be believed, then it cost the same as 30 minutes of trailer time on the awards....

Mr. Zim: Did you notice anything that appeals to you?
Hogwarts Legacy
The base version of which is free on Epic until December 18th at 6:00 PM. Don't ask me what time zone that's supposed to be, because they apparently prefer that to remain a mystery. After mulling it over for some time, I decided to go ahead and make an account to claim it. I don't trust Epic and I don't like that they ask for your name, but I figured they already have my data through my Bandcamp account ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Control Resonant
100% up my alley. The first game was great, this looks great as well. Picking up where the story left off is exactly what I was hoping for.

Shinobi: Art of Vengeance
A beautifully animated hack 'n slash platformer. I hope it makes its way over here.

Bradley the Badger
I love the ridiculously cute protagonist and the premise of a gameplay medley taking you through various genres.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis
Tomb Raider: Catalyst
Yawn. It's more Tomb Raider, so I'd like to play them, I guess. It's difficult to get excited about the same formula being rehashed yet again. On top of that, we might have to wait another decade for a release here.

No Law
Looked a lot like Cyberpunk 2077 to me. Which means it'll be yet another game my computer can't handle. But it's one to keep an eye on anyway.

Exodus
After watching the trailer for this, I'm less sure I'd be interested. Whatever I must've watched during the awards was probably related to the time aspect and that was enough to reel me in. Remains to be seen how it'll shape up overall.

Overall, I'm glad a YouTuber/streamer I watch decided to do a commentary stream. I wouldn't normally have any interest in the game awards otherwise. Trailers this early into development are sketchy and misleading. I'd rather avoid the hype and the inevitable disappointment that follows.
I will say it was very satisfying to see Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 claim so many accolades. I've only listened to the soundtrack myself, but the game looked fantastic in the YouTube series I watched. I hope to play it one day.

They can ask, but that's about it. For an account that only claims freebies, you can put in whatever.

Mr. Zim: [...]
Atlantis, Tomb Raider, initially piqued my interest, but the video left me with a single question. What is the rationale for a remaster?
avatar
amok: It is not a re-master, it is a re-make (so redone from scratch, not just adding new HD textures and some fixes)

The rationale is to sell the game and make money.
Did you see what makes the two new TR titles different?

Yes.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis is a remake of the 1996 game.

Tomb Raider Catalyst is a completly new TR game, of which we have very little information on yet, just a cinematic trailer.
