triock: As if truth ever stopped conspirators! O.o
You are right! There are always alternative facts and demons. :D

Thank you! This is the kind of communication we need from GOG!

Thank you for the explanation.
Thanks a lot for the explanation. Much appreciated and puts our minds at ease.

WinterSnowfall: ....but while it is rather uncommunicative of GOG, they are under no obligation to disclose what happened to the public at large if they don't want to.
Sometimes I wish we lived in the world of Shadowrun...then such things wouldn't be as big of a problem :)

Shmacky-McNuts: Its plausible that staff made mistakes that would make them lose business, for exposing incompetence. Would be funny to have them disclose "Hey guys, Bobs a dumbass and borked a server. We good now!" Though I would chuckle.
I would chuckle as well, and my respect for Gog might edge up a point.

Ancient-Red-Dragon: The thread title and the "highly rated" status of the original post are both highly ridiculous IMO. They make GOG sound as if they did the right thing.
Bruh, I believe your sarcasm meter is broken.....ya might want to re-read that thread title ;)
(besides that, I feel you made some good points in the rest of your post)

jpolgesek: We're now working on making sure that this doesn't happen in the future (we're redesigning our network to be more resilient to outages).
Might want to make sure y'all do so before the next big release/sale. That said, this is the sort of post i'd like to see more of :)
(i.e. more general staff posting in the forum overall, beyond things like modding posts)

Thank you for giving us this simple rundown of the event. I wish Gog had the directive to be upfront like this regularly (, tho I admit that your explanation would be even more welcome if it appeared even earlier. Like, just a quick mention of "hardware/network failure" would shoot down the theories of hacking right away.)

Nonetheless it's always a good thing when you blues talk to us (without a PR screen).

Wait, a real reply to the forum that's full of actual, concise information? Did I just enter the twilight zone?

Jokes aside, I really appreciate the post, it's extremely refreshing to see someone actually take the time to address us and properly fill us in on a situation.
