Keith_I2: I know about some fix files to make it run on modern computers but maybe I don't need those.
Conkwer: You need it even for not modern computers (WinXP SP3 compatible), because it fixes bugs, like MCP does for Morrowind.
There lot of problems in vanilla Gothic 1 with memory leak.
By the way, latest version of systempack is 1.8, I believe.
I tried the latest systempack and it was ok, except the game screen had a border around it with an X and small square at the top right as if it was a minimized screen. Very distracting.
.....
By the way, the system pack would not install until after I installed the downloadable 1.08k upgrade, even though the GOG Gothic 1 game already has it. What I think is the 1.08k upgrade was redone and is paired with the 1.8 system pack. So you can't have one without the other!
........
Actually the border and smaller screen around the game was because I had set resolution too low. My monitor is 1920-1080 hdmi and the game recognizes it and gives full screen borderless.
