Suffers from poor design
I played bolt gun on steam and I didn't really care fit it.
The main problem isn't one thing, but lots of little things that come together that prevent the game from being fun.
One such thing is the level design. There's too many gaps, too many cliffs and too many ways to fall into pits. You want to move fast and shoot everything insight, but you'll end up slipping off and falling into the pits as you do this.
Your default movement speed is very slow, you can hold the shift key to run, but there's no always run function. This means you'll be constantly holding the shift to move at a decent speed. Despite the projectile based combat; the way the levels work, and the way the enemies fight, you will be forced to use cover as you play this game.
The game looks like an old school retro shooter, but it actually plays a lot like a modern one.
