Worth WAY more than $9.99
Neverwinter Nights is THE greatest value you can ever get in a computer game.
Originally released in 2002, this game continues to entertain thousands of people. The included single-player camaign (and expansions) are nice enough (and provide dozens of hours of play time), and are good practice for getting to know the game, but this diamond really stands out when you venture beyond the included adventures.
Going online you'll discover a very dedicated and active (and friendly) community that is continually creating new single-player modules (hundreds of them are available, all for free!), new multiplayer PWs (Persistent Worlds, which are free!), new content for the game (which is free!), and even multiple visual upgrades for the game (again, free!).
Once you buy the game, everything you may need or want for it is free...forever (except your internet access, of course, but you're already paying for that for other things). No in-game advertising. No monthly fees. No subscriptions or even mailing lists.
It can even be played online by those on dial-up connections. Yes, that's right, a game that can be played multiplayer on dial-up. Initial downloads take longer (you can always start downloading before going to bed at night), but after that playing goes just fine.
Sure, the graphics might be a bit dated (it is nearly 8 years old, after all), but with visual improvements and brand new custom content made by the community, and the ability for anyone to create new and engaging stories (or even simple smash-fest adventures), this game far outclasses any other game available (even the newest ones that require the newest computers to run).
Once you've got this game and a multiplayer key, head on over to the NWN1 section of the BioWare social site for community interactions and to the Neverwinter Nights Vault for all your desired upgrades/content (and much more).
