Warhammer: Chaosbane

Mostly repetitive and uninteresting.

Go here, kill... return... go there... kill, return.. etc. Over and over. You also have the same scenery/locations used, many times over. If you're not expecting much from a game, you might enjoy spending time with this type game. I've played hack and slash games that manage to involve the player in the happenings of the story. This falls short. Way short. Honestly feel, except for all the loot choices, it doesn't have much to offer. Let's not forget to mention... NO SAVES....except when you leave the game. If you have to stop for any reason, you won't start where you left off... Oh no... you get to repeat the same, uninteresting level... all over again, from the start. What genius developer ... thought of that one. It does have tons of loot, and some character building. But, with the level cap and amount of points given, you'll be limited on how much you can "grow" your character. Level cap is 50.. Played till level 31 and the 2nd act. Didn't finish the game. After the 1st few hours I found it uninteresting and boring. Kept going hoping it'd get better... Nope..... No story to speak of... nothing to really keep you interested or looking forward to the next play session, cause if you've played for a few hours, you'll know exactly what to expect. What you'll be seeing and what you'll be doing. Mindless killing, and uninteresting locations. You can play several character choices... but, even with build changes, and skill trees, they'll do the same thing and I see NO.... replay value. All too many developers put a few RPG elements into a game, and think it's OK to refer to the game as an RPG, when it's really just a hack and slash game... and in this case, sans a good story or interesting character development. Or scenery either. Got on sale...even with that, it was not money, well spent. Regret what money and time I did spend.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning

Kingdom of Amulur

A huge, really pretty game world, equipment, lots of stuff to find..crafting and so forth. This is a game that holds your hand, with map markers and a log book, keeping track of everything and telling you just where to go and what to do. I guess you don't have to use all these "hand holding" features, but when you look at the map, your destination and target are marked... none the less. Also, when you reach level 40... leveling stops and for me, that takes away a lot of the fun. After the cap is reached, it's not much more than a, go here, kill that.. bring something back... Go back, kill/steal, this or that.. return. Even with the huge game world, factions and so forth, there's no deep plot or story line to sink your teeth into. And, even with the DLC .. leveling stops. Dev's should have added leveling to go with the DLC's. They didn't. For me, when you reach the level cap.. it's pretty much over. When looking forward to the "reward" of leveling up my character is gone, so is a lot of the fun. If hand holding and level caps, don't bother you, you'll enjoy this. There's still stuff to do. And, crafting. You can use the Fate Weaver to completely change your style... but, you'll still stay the same level. And, even with the plus sides... my character stuck at the same level, is a deal breaker.

FATE: The Complete Adventure

FATE... boring....

Yes, some nice graphics... equipment upgrades, character stats... But.... A few RPG elements.. does not make for a fun game when the 95% of the game consists of nothing more than... endless, boring... long narrow hallways.. with some chests and barrels to break and the same monsters... to kill, over and over. Nothing but... go get this, kill monster and bring it back.. for another boring, uneventful, trek, down the long boring hallway, kill the same monsters and bring some item back. No puzzles, or any interesting story to keep your interest. And, the dev's.... brag about there being MILLIONS of levels... ALL THE SAME premise... go, fetch, kill, return. You're kidding right, THIS is a good thing... after 15 levels, I was bored out of my mind. After several hours, hoping it'd get more interesting... I deleted all FATE games and regret my purchase. I like dungeon crawlers.. been playing since before original Nintendo.... this is one of the most boring games, I've come across in a long time. Graphics and equipment don't make up for all.... that it is lacking.

Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 Boring ...as the 1st one.

Same as the 1st one. NO character development...as in... NONE. NO having the fun of finding a really neat, goodie. Aka .. armor, weapon, accessory... except runes, that can be such a pain to find, and then they do crap.... they're not even worth the insane amount of time you spend, trying to retrieve them. Big deal.. look for hours, get a rune... and get an upgrade of several more bullets. Or some other fairly boring stat... Endless, empty buildings, streets and so forth. Big deal... can play as a female. Same boring settings, same LACK of any interesting character development, same pathetic weapons.. a gun or sword... that's it. NO decent armor... shallow exchanges between NPC's... Go... find... kill... return... OVER and OVER.... All in areas you've seen a thousand times and devoid of anything interesting.... anywhere. The way the ad has been worded... you get the impression there's so much difference between #1 and 2... Not so... in reality it's the same ... same basic story, same exact locations, NO improvement in any goodies, and the same, boring, empty locals... and game play. So one can "zoom" further than the other... big deal.... doesn't make up for the lack of any real interesting events... or items.... or... or.... or.... Gotta hand it to GOG and the dev's.... at least it's one of the best... CON JOBS, I've seen in a long time. Think I'll go watch the paint dry.

Trust me, you'll MISS the mini map

At first you may think the "mini map" being only radar... is no big deal. I did.... at first. Well, having totally blank "radar", with a few dots on it, as my mini map, is the biggest pain in the A** and takes away from the enjoyment of the game. Having to pause .. constantly.... so you can press the "M key" to view the map on your "arm band", then more clicks to get you back into the game, detracts from the concentration and fluidity of the play experience. I don't like having my "hand held" and don't play games that insist on doing this. But, give those of us who enjoy the ease of glancing at a mini map, a mini map. Those of us who don't appreciate having to stop the game just to get our bearings. Bearings that are only a GLANCE away with the usual mini map. You want to shove radar down our throats, fine... but for the kind of money you're are asking for a DOWNLOAD.... you should afford the option of using what makes the game enjoyable for the player... Gone are the days when we'd make our own maps. The advent of the mini map was one of the few boons to the "new, improved, modern blah blah blah, games". What idiot decided a dot on a dark screen would be fun. Try playing the game with your finger on the "M" key, pausing and pressing it constantly, just so you have SOME idea where you are. See what happens to the "flow" of your gaming action and concentration. Some folks enjoy the radar. MORE don't. And I resent this company not giving me the option of, not using the useless radar, over the more helpful enjoyment of the mini map. Won't be anymore like this added to my library.

Boring ....

Read Sykes 228's review. It says it all. And very well. Let me add to the "loot/create" item thoughts. BORING. Plowed for hours, through countless levels for "gift boxes". Finally got enough to make a legendary item. I got JUNK..... something that has NOTHING to contribute to my style of game play. And, no way to get another chance at a decent item. Forget....SAVING.....if you have to stop playing, the whole game resets and you get the "pleasure" of plowing through the whole uninteresting thing again, since you can't pick up where you left off. And, all this boring game play, doesn't even result in good items or skill tree development. Can't even look forward to finding any neat items or armor for you to collect, store or equip. NOTHING.... Just the same thing, over and over and over. Using RPG in the description, just to increase sales, shouldn't be allowed. This game is so devoid of any real RPG elements that the company should be ashamed of itself for putting RPG anywhere in it's questionable praise of this game. Again.... Sykes 228 fills in what I didn't cover. Game is a BIG disappointment if you want any kind of decent, interesting action/RPG. Play Witcher 3 instead.

Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition

Like boring fights, buy this.

Many of the reviews mention the good things this game has to offer. And the dev's got a lot right in DOS..EE. But, none of these positives make up for the long winded, boring, mundane fights. At level 17, I've had enough of them and the "action points" and will move on to a different game. For decades I've been a fan of turned based battles, and all the positive reviews convinced me to spend my money on this game. Companions, story, gear, etc cannot and do not, make up for these long, drawn out encounters. I guess I could go shampoo the carpet while I'm waiting for it to be my turn again. Maybe the developers thought it would be entertaining to have the player, sit there watching the screen while the enemy slowly, very slowly, plays out their parts. NOT SO.... boring. And, while waiting for your turn is a feature of turn based fighting, I can't remember spending so much time just sitting there doing NOTHING, since these fights move at a "snails pace" and there's nothing for you to do but wait, wait, wait. Then you get to do it over, again and again. Have a book at the ready so you have something you can do during the long, drawn out fights. This review would be different if the battles didn't drag on the way they do. If they had some "snap" to them. During most of the encounters, I issue my order then sit, twiddling my thumbs while the boring battle, drags on and on and on..... During some of the "spider" battles, I actually left the game and went to get a cup of tea. It was still going on when I got back. Boring does not equate to enjoyment. I'm convinced now more than ever, that some of the "glowing" reviews are written by developers and stockholders.

Might and Magic® 7: For Blood and Honor®

Usual Download BS

As ususal....this game isn't downloading. If it isn't chunk errors it's black bars... I don't think I've had ONE game from GOG that downloaded without requiring HOURS of tweeking, trying to make them either download or run.... And this is on two Falcon's and an Alien..... it's not the machines.... What is the issue with GOG.. they sell you games that you have to spend...... in the case of OUTCAST....three days trying to get it to work.... Terrible way to do business.... even STEAM isn't that much BS..
