emulated dos version

they even did what they could to disable the multiplayer. multiplayer only works if you have the cd. the emulator is called dreamm and does not work in windows 7. they included the dos installer but, the disc is still required. only way to play multiplayer is if you have a pc with serial port.

one of my favorite games

i got it as soon as i found out that it was available on gog. i have managed to complete the entire game in a day on new game+. i have it on switch(both versions 2d and 3d), playstation 4, xbox series x, steam and now gog. i specially enjoy playing at the ghost ship at night.

a good game, if you like large research

it improves on the others is multiple ways. only drawback is that most maps do not have enough resources to research everything but, that can be fixed by making your own. you can customise your units a lot. similar to warzone 2100 if you like that. gog managed to crack it, so that you no longer need to activate online.

it is a game i played a lot

i have the steam version of the remaster but, it no longer worked in windows 7. the gog version however did. i can finally play it on my windows 7 pc again. that alone makes it worth buying. it is however not the easiest final fantasy game to play. this was my at least 4th time buying it. though technically my grandmother purchased it for me the first time. i originally tried a pc demo of it and wanted it. i got it for playstation later and then i purchased the remaster twice: once for steam and now for gog. the disc version is on 5 discs. the game does show its age however. it is not running in wide screen and still uses the original aspect ratio. the pc version is using the american localisation. there is some text differences between the american english and the european english version.

it is a massive improvement

i played the original version on steam and this version is a lot better. think of the upgrade from lufia 1 to lufia 2. though i would recommend having an SSD for this, as it otherwise loads slowly. it runs well in windows 8.1. though it is badly optimised for spinning drives. i have not gotten very far so, i can not say much about the story.

it is a demo

instead of having 11 chapters, it caps out at chapter 2. half of the normal characters is available. chapter 2 can not be completed, because it is a demo and further progress is blocked by a wall, just like is normal in some demos. gog should have sold the full version and not the demo.

it is bad

the AI cheats and dos not follow the rules of the game. they can produce an infinite number of ships per turn. it is therefore not possible to win against the A.I. the hiver is simply not possible to win with. that is because the other players have plenty of time to rebuild by the time the hiver returns. then when there is an A.I rebellion, they will target the hiver player entirely. what was the developers thinking, when they added such a broken race?

a good but difficult game

you will not understand everything right away. once you understand it however it is a good heroes of might and magic clone. you do not need to focus as much on the castle however. i also purchased etherlords 2 and regretted it ever since.
