Installer worked fine for me. FPS horror
The initial inspiration for this review was to act as a response to WarBaby10's review. I downloaded the installer files myself and the game installed fine. It started up fine too, though I only played a few minutes. (My graphics card is an old GTX 1060 3GB.)
As for the game itself, I have seen a lot of gameplay on YouTube (and suggest you do the same to get an idea of whether or not you'd like the game). Inevitably there have been many comparisons to Cry of Fear, which is understandable. (The Silent Hill series was an inspiration for this game and CoF, iirc.) The sense I get is Remorse is not as good as CoF but still a solid 7.5-8/10. The atmosphere in the town is top-notch and overall the graphics are quite good. Most enemies have the same "come at you fast" attack but different and interesting designs.
As an aside, at least one of the Remorse devs also worked on the Half-Life 2 horror mod "Grey", which is comparable to Cry of Fear and Remorse. (Both Grey and CoF were in-development and released roughly around the same time but neither party copied the other.) All three use Stig Sydtangen as the primary voice actor, which is a very fun connection.
(Again, the following is all based on lengthy gameplay I've seen on YouTube.) If FPS psychological survival-horror intrigues you, I recommend trying the game. Likewise if you enjoyed Cry of Fear or similar, I also suggest this game. You'll probably get ~3.5-4 hours of gameplay for a first playthrough (there are three different endings), and I think the full price is fair for that length (or you can wait for a sale of course).
