Parasite Eve is a survival horror role-playing video game developed and published by SquareSoft (now Square Enix) for the Sony PlayStation console. The game follows the story of Aya Brea, a rookie NYPD officer who becomes embroiled in a series of bizarre and deadly events related to a genetic mutation known as mitochondria. The game combines elements of horror, science fiction, and RPG gameplay, featuring real-time battles, exploration, puzzle-solving, and character development. The game's plot is inspired by the novel of the same name by Hideaki Sena, and its gameplay mechanics were influenced by the Final Fantasy series. Parasite Eve was critically acclaimed upon its release in 1998, and is widely regarded as a classic of the survival horror genre.

Not as good as the second one but still. The combat mechanics it may a little archaic since this is a turn based RPG but with the addition of the free movement during combat. I think PE2 does a much better job and is superior in every aspect, graphics, FMVs, character design, combat, sound, pre-rendered backgrounds, weapons, parasite energy, Aya Brea itself. Yes PE1 story and settings may be a lot more flamboyant, but still I like more the resident evil-esque approach of PE2.-LUIS2289

This is an epic sci-fi horror story set in NYC that takes the player across real locations across the island of Manhattan, and much like a precursor to The Last of Us, has a basis in science as a foundation for it's narrative, so though it's definitely outside of the realms of reality, it's far more grounded than stories that depend on the supernatural.

The MC was the Dream Girl of my Teenagehood while some would prefer Britney or Christina at that time. Too bad the 2nd P.E. game was a flop. Would love to see more of Aya in todays renders. Any dev would make thw remake?
It's a strange, interesting story and brings back childhood memories. And better than all the new crap out there that has no deep story and infected with politic bullsh.t and DEI nonsense.

jogava muito esse jogo nos anos 2000, Chegava da escola e ia para meu play 1 muitas vezes jogava com meu pai assistindo (já falecido), foi o primeiro jogo que tive, boas lembranças
I have been playing games since the days of Atari 2600. This game is in my top 10 of all time. Please make this happen. This game is legendary and would love to see this in my library again.
Absolutely NOTHING like this game exists. It's unique, it's fun, it's bold, it's brooding. It's confidently a turn based RPG, yet it plays nothing like it. The story is dark and ominous, but with a touch of camp only 90's square could manage. Beautiful pre-rendered backgrounds this time represent Manhattan in a strange light, while the score by Yoko Shimomura is mesmerizing. A masterpiece that deserves a remake, a remaster and a straight port!

Some of my best gaming memories come from sitting in my best friend's living room, watching him play through the Central Park chapter in the winter of 1998. The game was unreal, like nothing we'd seen before, and I knew I needed a PlayStation of my own so I could finish it. I miss you, Ben. I hope the world is treating you well, wherever you are.

It was the very first SquareSoft game I played back when my friend's mother went back from Japan and brought us a japanese original copy of the game. Gladly, my friend's PlayStation was able to read, since his mother also gave it as a gift to him. We played countless of hours trying to understand the customization system. But I'll always remember how much we liked grinding and listening to the OST. I hope this game sees the light of being stuck in an old system and GOG sets it free for us to enjoy.
Those games also need your vote!

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.
