I bought this game after playing the demo and it was one of the best surprises of my life, this game makes you think, it makes you feel, could make you cry. Thats not something very common in the medium and it needs to be preserved.Lionheart-1993

I bought this game after playing the demo and it was one of the best surprises of my life, this game makes you think, it makes you feel, could make you cry. Thats not something very common in the medium and it needs to be preserved.

I love this game, its genuinely a fun game to play. I remember a time where it was on the PSN store, and whilst playing it I stopped playing it right before you fought the 33rd, 2 years pass by, I was watching a video on how "Dark" the game was, I got to the part in the video where is revealed that you fight the 33rd, I remember being shocked and wanting to play the game again. I booted up my PS4 and looked through PSN to see if it was still available, it wasn't... Checked on steam sometimes the PSN removes games. Wasn't available... 'Bought a steam key for the game Spec Ops: The line.' I played all of it in one sitting on a weekday. I was hooked, after 2 days of finishing the game I played it again, and again, each time switching difficulties for the game to be much harder. I was a bit pudgy and fat at the time but, whilst playing Spec Ops: The Line on my pc, I would start sitting up in my chair improving my posture, started drinking a lot of water generally being healthier for some strange reason. I lost weight playing this game, about 23 Pounds, started walking, and then jogging, and then running. Because I was motivated from this game! After that I started introducing friends to the game, and then I bought a copy on the Xbox360. I love this game, LOVE IT! I LOVE IT SO MUCH! I would LOVE TO EXPERIENCE THE MULTIPLAYER! I watched so many videos about this game, I watched videos of all the Radio Man's voice lines I love this game so much. Please, bring, it, back. Spec Ops: The Line.

''I didn't want to hurt anybody'' ''No one ever does Walker'' This game needs to be back. Its one of the greatest stories ever written in video games and the way it provokes you to think about hard topics. Its probably one of the best ways to show real PTSD Its starts out as a regular ''hero simulator'' before you get slapped in the face with the brutal exploeration of morality ,war and mental ilness. The soundtrack and gameplay is also top notch. The way it handles its story and the plot twist when you realise you're not playing just another ''you are the hero'' story is just golden.

I have this game on Steam, thankfully. I played through this game years ago, knowing beforehand the idea(s) behind the game. This game being delisted over licensing nonsense is nothing short of a shameful travesty. If this industry wants to see and end to piracy, these practices need to go. The game itself seems like a fairly standard 3rd person shooter at first, and indeed doesn't mechanically innovate. The story is the star of the show anyway and the way the game makes players choose between bad and worse, without being clear about the consequences, makes for a unique experience that deserves to be available for purchase.

Obscured when it was released in the aftermath in the bloodbath between MW3 and Battlefield 3. Over time through word of mouth mostly, this game made its way throught the remainder of the decade. The BEST military themed campaign in gaming history, and probably ever. While the game appears to be having nothing that special mechanics and seems "basic AAA shooting of its time", it does fit the setting. Sadly, it was removed from most store pages after 10 years due to expiring licences in the music department, a great shame in my opinion. Something that requires proper adressing should it be brought back.

This game is a massive critic for repetitive shooters similar to call of duty and call of duty itself. In the start arguing about repetitive stories set in Afghanistan with rebels to directly criticizing the player by forcing the player kill civilians and hypnotizing him into thinking he is still a good person. Do you feel like a hero yet?

Never got to complete this masterpiece, but how I wish I did. Played the demo on Xbox 360 back in the day. As a kid I didn't really understand what the story was about I thought it was just another military shooter game. But oh boy was I wrong since then I have learned the whole story of the game and I think it's important to talk about the topics of the game and how we can learn from it. That war is not good for anyone and the people who go through war suffers from trauma for many years and for some the rest of their life. Please add this to gog to help preserve the game for future generations.

I got this game during a giveaway from Humble Bundle and honestly did not know what I am getting myself into. I was really surprised about not only the fact that the game ran without issues on my low end All in One PC but how genuinely thought provoking, detailed, and well written this game was infact I liked it so much I played it 3 times over nearly getting all the achievements. I like this game as it reminded me of a John Woo directed action film called Bullet In The Head both featured 3 leads, both are inspired by Vietnam War films/Heart of Darkness, and both are really good deconstructions on the sub-genres they are based on without being overtly edgy or shocking for just the sake of it. The only other game that comes close to this realistic depiction of war is COD World At War.

I already own this game on Xbox (and even on GOG!) but it HAS to be preserved! If GOG can get this game back on it's shelf it would be a massive win for game preservation!

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
