This game is an important cornerstone one of the largest conversations regarding video games: their depiction of violence. This is one of if not the prime example of commentary on violence in video games, and breaks the mold of the saturated 3rd person story genre and the shooter genre that was desensitizing players in games such as Call of Duty where war was depicted (even unintentionally) as fun. Overall, Spec Ops is a monumental part of video games depicting violence, and as games such as The Last of Us Part 2 where ultra violence has become glorified, this game becomes more and more important as time passes.BioticCryptic

Its awfully unfair that they decided to take this game away from the stores. There are a lot of games that doesent deserve a space on steam, gog, etc and a master piece like this is removed? just for a song that they could remove with a patch? If thats not th definition of unfair, i dont know what would it be
Why Spec Ops: The Line Needs to Be on GOG – A True Underrated Masterpiece Spec Ops: The Line isn’t your typical military shooter. What starts as a routine mission in a sandstorm-ravaged Dubai quickly turns into a harrowing descent into moral ambiguity, trauma, and the psychological cost of war. It’s a game that deconstructs the military shooter genre, confronting players with the realities behind the trigger, and forcing them to question their own choices. With its bold narrative, emotional depth, and haunting atmosphere, Spec Ops: The Line has earned a cult following and critical acclaim. It challenges players not with difficulty, but with ethics, consequence, and introspection—something few games dare to explore. So why should it be on GOG? Because this is a game that needs to be preserved. It’s no longer available on Steam or console storefronts, and physical copies are disappearing. GOG could give this game the second life it deserves—DRM-free, offline-ready, and accessible to future generations. Without it, Spec Ops: The Line risks becoming a lost masterpiece, remembered only in YouTube retrospectives. GOG is the perfect home for important, story-rich experiences that push the medium forward. Games like this should not vanish—they should be celebrated, studied, and played. Let’s bring Spec Ops: The Line back, where it belongs. Put it on GOG, and make sure this unforgettable journey through the horrors of war is never forgotten.
Spec ops the line has one of the greatest stories in gaming. It perfectly shows the horrors of war in a way that only video games can tell. After you play it, you will feal as though youve gone through hell.
This is one of the best underrated third person shooter game that I've ever played several years ago. Will definitely replay this game soon if given the time and the chance. It will be better if this will be available on GOG as this game is no longer available on Steam.

This game delivers a powerful and unforgettable story. I have it on GoG and completed it, although it's no longer available for purchase. If licensed music is preventing the game from being re-released, consider issuing a version with a modified soundtrack using public domain tracks to make it available again. The depiction of white phosphorus use helps players understand the real-world horrors of modern warfare. It's a storytelling masterpiece that deserves to be preserved and made available again for future generations to experience its vital, anti-military message.
The anti war game that ever was. Back when this game first came out, I didn't appreciate its messaging. I just wanted shootbang and not any contemplation of war crimes and jingoism. Now that I've grown up and changed quite a bit of my outlook, I remember this game and really wish I could give it another chance. Unfortunately, the devs met a fate that falls on too many hard working devs in our real life capitalist dystopia and the game ended up as an inaccesibly abondoned title. All the more reason GOG shlould prioritize bringing it back and preserving it
One of a special few games that really made me think about what I was doing in the game. The story is the best thing about Spec Ops hands-down, and GOG should bring this back because it's still one of the best military-themed games in any genre (FPS, RTS, etc) that dared to bring something diffferent to the table in asea full of Call of Duty and Battlefield and so on. And dare I say that Spec Ops: The Line is probably the best horror game disguised as something else that I've played

I love this game. It literally gives you PTSD. It's the most Anti-War Game I ever played. The melee combat that gets more aggressive and 'inhuman' as the game moves on, as well as the voices of the characters that may even be demons at the last chapters. The 'mirror' the game holds infront of you. 11/10 I'd love to play this with zero memory all over again. It was a major part of my young adulthood and made my young, idiotic, naive self see 'military' with VERY different eyes. Also: It's not on steam anymore. And that's not okay. People SHOULD be able to play this.
This game taught me about what a good story truly can be. I am going to be very careful to not include any spoilers here because when I played this I think I was about 15 and had played my fair share of shooters, played the entirety of the uncharted series that was out at that time, and thought this was going to be kind of a more centered style of those games. What I learned and discovered about the intricacies of story telling from this inspired my love of various authors and books for years to come. I think about this game every few months and replay it every few years. It is incredible. If you've never played it, do so, seriously.
Those games also need your vote!

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

Like the previous entries, Silent Hill 3 is a survival horror combining action-based combat and puzzle-solving, but is somewhat more combat-oriented than the preceding installments. The main character is able to side-step and block some attacks, but in general shares with the other protagonists of the series their relative ineptitude in combat.
