I received notices today for updates to the newly released Robocop: Rogue City and Wolfenstein: Tne New Order so I went to the games in my library to download the updated game files.

Robocop: Rogue City files returned information that they where the exact same files as I downloaded after I bought the game yesterday..

This was not the first time this has happened so I simply verified the file versions and moved on to Wolfenstein TNO.

When I clicked on the installer file to download it I got a white page popup that said the following:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

It had a solid line under it from edge of page to edge of page with the following under the line in color highlight characters and black characters.

<Error>
<Code>NoSuchKey</Code>

There was more under it so I attached a screen grab of the page. wolfenstein tno .pnp

I have not yet tried to download any of the .bin files. I only checked the file versions shown in the file discription text
under the icon. The file version for the Wolfenstein TNO update is the same version as I downloaded a few weeks ago so the files are not properly changed if the update is a differnet version from Ver. 1.0.0.2 hotfix.

Can someone get into these game files and verify and correct update status for both games as soon as possible?

Thank you

Oh, that download is broken. Bad luck, better wait for Monday when someone fixes it.
Yes, they changed it from 1.0.0.2 hotfix to 1.0.0.2 hotfix, clearly this is an extremely important change and must be downloaded immediately.

When I get an update notice I am not looking at the versions at that point. I did notice that the version of the update in both game cases was the same version as I already had AFTER I hit that first "Installer" file update download. Typically good ol' Windows hollers at you about wanting to replace the file by the same name (Version number) etc. That is when I usually do realize that there is an issue. It is rare in most cases but far too common on GOG when they get in a rush to post any updates to keep us off their backs.. LOL..

Simple "Human Error" most of the time. Once in a while they have a real fupah like with the Witcher 3 upgraded edition files a few months back. The files would download normally but when you tried to install them they came up corrupted so you get the message to download the files the scanner failed. This kept repeating multiple times over about a week before the team finally got the messages from the gamers that there was a problem with the update files. I get around this out of habit using that Windows "Same File Alert" tool so I don't even overwrite my last version download until I know the new one is fully functional.

This was not the first time update alerts came out for games but did not have a newer file version assigned to the game's files in the apparent update release. It's just common sense to drop a note somewhere so that the GOG team finds it and checks on what the issue may be. Heck. They could have a glitch somewhere that is releasing random UD alerts that may have resulted in multiple games alerted but not updated. That or someone tampered trying to get ahead.

We may never know.. It's all up to the IT and Coding team to fix.. If, and when, they can find what needs fixed...

GOG has trained me to do that after many cases of updates not actually being updates, usually because of an update for a Mac/Windows/Linux version that doesn't affect the other versions. But sometimes for other reasons, or even no reason at all.
