I've discovered this PS1 hidden gem recently, thanks to living in France, and PAL consoles never got it on the original PlayStation, and still, I'll easily put it in the top of the games I've ever played.
SquareSoft really did something truly amazing, with both the story, which is the adaptation of a japanese bio-horror novel, the gameplay, which is honestly still very good and fluid more than 25 years later, the music being memorable and on par with Final Fantasy games on the same hardware, graphicaly impressive for its time, and still pleasant to look at for an original PlayStation game. I've had a blast to play it, it's been one of my most memorable gaming experience of this last years, and for me, Parasite Eve is the embodiement of the games that should never be lost and die: a very unique game, a risk taken by a company that started to be at the top of the world, and one hell of a piece of history.
