There was little quite as enjoyable as growing an army and taking those same units through the game. BFME really had that unique experience that made it quite unlike any other RTS. I have so many memories of playing this on my PC during my teen years, being a huge fan of the LotR movies and then eventually reading the books. It would be wonderful to revisit again and would definitely ignite a spark in the modding community for new content!ShinStarlord

Fast double clucking all over the screen to trample orc enemies with my Rohirrim riders over and over again. Felt a little over powered but was still really fun watching it.

When i was in my early 20ties i remember spending time looking online for RTS games that i had missed out on either because i was very young when they came out or i missed them as i stooped played pc games in my mid to late teens to spend time with ppl outside. But i wanted to play pc games again in my early 20ties so i spent quit sometime trying to look for games (think the year was around 2011) This game was one of the ones i found that i really liked the look and feel of and the fact that it was about lord of the rings that was a big hit with me in my early teens when the movies came out made it all the better. So i went to amazon and bought a collectors set with the first game and the 2st game + exp and i still have it to this day (I'm 35 atm) It would be great if the series would get released on GoG so that other people can get a chance to play this great series seeing as the only way now days is buying it from other ppl and maybe some other way. But i really don't understand how this great series of games still to this day is not released online for ppl to play and buy. There is great money to be made here and a great time to be had as well.

Many many hours playing all of these titles, would definitely love to see these redone for next generation gaming. Sometimes i feel creators and publishers just don’t listen to their fans. If this game was remastered they would make their money all over again and be bringing back a forever gem to the fans. Why are we not pushing for this. Countless ventures with random players just wanting to have huge battles in the middle of maps and keep the games going what good times, bring it back.
please this was a awesome game for its time only got to play it for a small while was fun especially when ya can create your own hero here is hoping the can add the expansion pass too

When I was a kid, i was poor but I had a dear close friend who had enough money to afford a PC. I would often visit him to either watch a movie from the trilogy together or I would watch him for hours play this game or its succesor, bfme 2. He was completely in love with them and so was I. The graphics were incredible for those times, almost surreal. I never had the courage to play it myself, but I loved watching him. The units, the mechanics, the accuracy of the lore… it’s hard to find a game today that compares.| Now, my friend is gone... he decided to set sail with the elves... and because of licensing issues, I may never be able to relive those childhood memories... Please bring this game back, along with its successor, even if it’s just for a limited time.

Core memories from 2000s were all you had was god forsaken keyboard, some orange juice and a massive monitor to play video games at. One of the few RTS I deeply enjoyed.
Those games also need your vote!
Black & White
Black & WhitePlay the role of a deity in a land where the surroundings are yours to shape and its people are yours to lord over. Be an evil, malevolent god and the natives will worship you with fear in their eyes. Play as a kind, benevolent god and they will worship you with love in their hearts. Your actions decide whether you create a heaven or hell for your worshipers. Then select a creature from the land to act as your representative in the world. Raise it to gigantic proportions and teach it to do your bidding--whether the animal grows into an evil colossus of mass destruction or a kind and gentle giant is up to you. Progress through the game's rich storyline performing powerful miracles to battle other deities and become the world's supreme god.

Black & White 2
Black & White 2In the game, the player takes the role of a god called from the void (nothingness) to help those who invoked them. However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. In addition to the god simulation and city-building elements introduced in the original Black & White, Black & White 2 also features elements of real-time strategy gameplay, with the addition of controllable warfare and fighting units.

As the player progresses, his troops are equipped with weapons from "crysknives" to atomics, tap into Paul's latent psychic powers, and get acquainted with such characters from the book as Chani and Liet-Kynes.
