Story:
The players control the heroes or villians from the famous Lord of The Rings movies. With a hero characters similar to the Warcraft series you control both the armies and all the unique heroes. The game follows the movies very closely and even got scenes from the films appear in game. Not only does the game contain a giant campaign where you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, the game also features an evil campaign where as the players play as the evil forces of Middle Earth. With multiple diffrent races from all over Middle Earth, a giant spell tree to customize your game and a unique basebuilding layout the game was great for its time.

Such a great RTS game. It was a little clunky but they did a really good job in bringing Middle Earth into an RTS genre during the time when LOTR was fresh in everyone's mind. It was a good golden age of Middle Earth games that really touched on myself and my friends.

One of the games that got me into the RTS genre, given to me by my mother back in the day. Ever since I have been trying to find the feeling of playing it again but nothing ever got close. If this one and the second would would become available on GOG they are an INSTANT buy. No hesitation and I will lose myself in them once again! Please, bring it back. The gaming world, and arguably the everyone else needs this!

i was at 10-12 that time(now29) at my neighborhood and with my friends we were crazy that game. We were save our pocket money and going to internet cafe and wrote it to cd. We played all summer just bfme1-2 and we played ottoman mod. Nice times

Considering the year this game was released, it's a great game, and frankly, having the Riders of Rohan crush the enemy's armies was an experience you'll never forget. Seeing this game on your site, and being able to see it in an improved way, would greatly please me and the Middle Earth fans.

Me and a friend were in a PC gaming cafe, back in the day and it was just the two of us and we wanted to try out something different. Since we were both fans of LOTR and had some familiarity with the characters and units, we fired up a 1v1 having never played the game before. What happened next is a match which would make a fantastic comedy in the LOTR universe with hilarious moments and ridiculous strategies. Really fond memories with these games.

This is one of the best RTS game that gave me hundred of hours in the past. The amazing campaign allows you to play following the events in the movie (keeping even Gandalf alive) OR follow Sauron and Saruman to conquer Middle Earth.

PLZ do it! Don't forget MFME 2 either! What made this game unforgettable to me is that I never got to play it! I bought a copy of BFME 1 and BFME 2 which cost me about 300.00 US dollars. I tried to install it on 3 different computers and I guess the game is just too old to run on windows 10/11. I sent it to my cousin who still has his old pc from 2008ish and he got to play them. So at least it wasn't 300 bucks completely wasted.

Longest Battle ever played in any rts. It was garage night and we started 2v2. After 1h there was only 1v1. Gondor vs Mordor. It lasted about 3-4 hours. Balrog destroying my towers and then ghosts destroying their army. A night to remember, but not for other friends:).

However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions.
