When I was little my Uncle bought and played this game when it was on the PSOne. The rat scene (you know the one) scared me senseless but the game looked so amazing. The combat. the gun customization. I spent years afterward trying to find the game cause I didn't know it's name. Since then I found it and have made it a Christmas tradition to play it. Parasite Eve and 2 are one of the few that made my childhood and I will take every chance to sing its praises.HammerOfSublety

When I was little my Uncle bought and played this game when it was on the PSOne. The rat scene (you know the one) scared me senseless but the game looked so amazing. The combat. the gun customization. I spent years afterward trying to find the game cause I didn't know it's name. Since then I found it and have made it a Christmas tradition to play it. The one game that deserves a good remake. A uniqe mix of Action and jRPG. A survival horror adventure that does not rely on your conventional zombies. A forgotten gem. A book adaptation. A game from a golden era of Square Enix. A game that has one of the best female main character in all games history. A character, that deserved more than a Kill Bill treatment. A game that has dinosaurs! A product of it's time that could not have been created in modern game industry environment.

Fantastisch gutes Spiel mit einem für mich damals und heute noch unglaublich guten Kampfsystem. Die Geschichte Rund um Aya ist unvergessen. Der Stil des ersten Teils hat viele Gamer verschreckt, aber auch eben soviele angezogen. Ich bin auch geblieben. Mit einem US Import und einer gechiptenn PS1 habe ich Teil 1 zweimal intensiv durch gespielt. Das würde ich auf dem PC sehr gern wieder tun.

Pra mi foi muito melhor que o primeiro resident, a historia, a jogabilidade, a imersao no jogo me prendeu por dias. Lembro de varar noites arrumando as armas, fazendo upgrades. explorando cada cantinho. saudades.

During the original PlayStation time, there was a lot of RPG/JRPG games coming out with Final Fantasy standing tall, however Square did create another game called Parasite Eve. It was a classic and a favorite that I now use an emulator to play it on with my original discs. Needs a little graphics tuning, but overall, it had a great story, and the play was amazing enough. I would like to see the 1st and the sequel get preserved in relaunched on GOG.

it was one of the few games that would help me get thru my depression because of how written it is and even tho people not having specical powers its really funny and the characters are amazing for the time, fighting a dinosaur as a boss in the tower lol i played the game when i was a young boy , it would help others love the game as much as i do

Only ever played Parasite Eve 2 as a child and loved it, would love to play the first one as well. Still have my hard copy of Parasite Eve 2 for PS1 and can play it through emulation means but obviously owning it through digital means and DRM free would be awesome to preserve it!

Another great game that added to the magic of late 90s consoles. No generation today well experience that huge jump from 2d to 3d but they should be able to go back and play all the games of the era.

A classic game that mixes genres and told an amazing story. Amazing game that absolutely should be saved for it's cultural impact. Even if Square has all but given up on the franchise.

its a game that looks like resident evil but has a unique battle system with rpg elements. its a one of a kind type game that sadly almost is completly lost to time with the only most known remnant being the horrible PSP title. I hope we can get PE1 and PE2 here and show how much tthis series is still loved and deservend of preservation.

FreelancerEight hundred years prior to the start of our story, bitter conflict divided all of mankind. A handful of colonists struck out on their own to begin anew - far away from the Earth and its turmoil. Several ships were launched with enough equipment and supplies to give the hundreds onboard a fighting chance - but since the area around far-off Sirius had never been surveyed, no one really knew what to expect. What they found was a new frontier of free-flowing natural resources, unexplored territories, great wonders and lurking dangers. Each ship, representing the clusters of people and their earthly place of origin, settled into different parts of the galaxy pre-selected by their ship-board computer to give them the best chance of survival. Life was hard in the beginning, but over the 800 years the different colonies prospered and expanded their territories, claiming more and more systems for their own. Survival and propagation eventually led to growth and profit as each of the colonies developed specialties and fostered commerce. As the colonies grew and time passed their connections with their roots on Earth dwindled and they lost their memories of the conflicts of the past. Soon their attention was dominated by new, more immediate conflicts. Feelings of lost ancestral connection spurred anachronism in the look of the great cities, and created a somewhat distorted image of each colony's cultural heritage. In the ever-expanding outer edge of the territories, frontier lawlessness prevailed. The Houses: Each shipboard colony that left Earth carried some memory of its origins in its name. The Liberty carried Americans, The Bretonia flew from The United Kingdom and surrounding territory, The Kusari from Asia, and the Rheinland launched with Germanic cargo. As each ship settled and colonies began to expand, they knew little about each other and their advancing development. Finally, little by little, the individual colonies found each other and began to set up trade routes to link their systems for commerce and solidarity. Today, with each colony firmly rooted in its respective corner of the galaxy, the colonies rely heavily on each other for trade and industry but also compete for resources and new territories in the Border Worlds. The colonies mandate member governments in "The New Alliance" within the Sirius sector. To control conflicts, each colony has forged alliances and treaties with others as they have grown. Competition remains fierce, however. Struggles rage for supremacy in business, commerce, resources, power and control. There can be tenuous peace between colonies' political agendas, but the grabs for holdings constantly unsettle the volatile frontier.
