This was my gift for finishing elementary school and became my favorite game, played it while me and my family watched the movies, it became a family activity :)

I played the original, 2 and the Rise of the Witch King. All priceless works of RTS art. The campaigns, the multiplayer, even skirmish were both fun and challenging. And creating your own heroes to lead your armies into battle was the cherry on the cake. I see so many streamers looking for a LOTR strategy game to play, not knowing these games actually existed. These masterpieces need preserving.

One of my favorite games from childhood, use to play it with my brothers on the couch back when we were kids! I really hope we can buy it on here soon, since it doesn't look like we can get it anywhere else

Ah this game is Anything but Wonderful its beyond that i remember used to play this game with my brother when i was little this game truly is a gem no where to find nowadays Hopefully The game will come back at some point

I'm 34 years old now, and after all these years, I still find myself playing and enjoying this game just as much as I did when I first started. It has been a part of my life for so long, filled with countless memories, friendships, and unforgettable moments. No matter how much time passes, the excitement and nostalgia this game brings remain unmatched.

Man I feel like an idiot for giving my copy of this game away, thinking it was 100% gonna pop up on steam. Though to be fair, he was obsessed with LotR so it went to a good home at least. How the hell this game hasn't been preserved at all blows my mind and it's a long overdue injustice that needs fixing.

EA broke my heart with this game. I was still young when it came out, and new games were not in my range for me, being a kid. I loved BFME already, and as usual, I played it later in time due to accessibility and the power of my PC. But finally in 2010 I purchased a BFME 2, and immediately I fell in love, own heroes, grand strategy on world level, man, it was perfect. But just a few weeks after I purchased a copy, the servers were turned off, just when I moved from playing single-player to online. It really broke my heart then.

The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II This was my all-time favorite RTS game growing up. It had so much spectacle and attention to detail—but most of all, it remembered to be fun. It wasn’t obsessed with perfect balance like many modern games, which constantly chase new metas and updates to stay fair. If you got the One Ring, it was almost always game over for your opponent. Some factions had far more heroes than others, like the "Men of the West." I remember playing epic matches with friends—three versus one—on maps like Helm’s Deep or Minas Tirith, just trying to survive the assault. Those battles were unforgettable. Sadly, you can’t buy it online anymore. It’s only available on physical discs, often at ridiculous prices. This game needs to be preserved and restored for modern players. It deserves a second life.

I was once a seasonal game tester at EA Tiburon during college. In classic EA fashion, they offered copies of unsold games in lieu of monetary payment. I got this game for Xbox and, as a LoTR fan, I dove in deep. I spent dozens if not hundreds of hours in this game. It was only during a particularly tough time that I had to make the decision to sell the game since it was worth a good bit at that time. Looking back, I would have "suffered" a bit more and not sold the game because it was so enthralling for me and the thought of playing it now makes me nostalgic for a time in life I truly miss.

However, the player is not an omnipotent style god, but rather a god who rises and falls with his believers and the player must help develop their nature according to their good or evil desires. The player also has a creature, their physical representation in the world, which takes the form of an anthropomorphic ape, lion, wolf, turtle, cow, or tiger. Its physical manifestation can grow to an immense size, and adopt a good or evil persona separate of the player's. They develop their character as the player rewards or punishes their actions. With a hero characters similar to the Warcraft series you control both the armies and all the unique heroes. The game follows the movies very closely and even got scenes from the films appear in game. Not only does the game contain a giant campaign where you play through the journey of the ring as the good side, the game also features an evil campaign where as the players play as the evil forces of Middle Earth. With multiple diffrent races from all over Middle Earth, a giant spell tree to customize your game and a unique basebuilding layout the game was great for its time.
