drxenija: Guys, who has done their homework and watched all the matches up to this point? Gimme your take
Bias aside, I'm curious about an objective perspective on Argentina and England
I'd be surprised if England win against Argentina. No chance against Spain.

I think Argentina has an edge with Messi. Heard it is his last world cup.

Yes i would think so, still has his moments unlike '10 men and a statue' Ronaldo. Both great back in the day but Ronaldo needs to retire.

So sad, I don't know what I'm watching right now
Nothing special in the first half with the exception of Enzo Fernandez great shot. Argentina broke England's pressing very easily and has been able to get some good counter attacks but their choices in the final third were very poor and Messi hasn't done anything significant so far but he just needs one moment to change the whole game. I expect England to be more offensive in the 2nd half and the key will be if Argentina can withstand their press and not make any silly mistakes when defending. Also Argentina's bench looks more solid with players like Lautaro, Nicolas Gonzales and De Paul which can make a difference if subbed in. To tell the truth having watched all of Aregentina's matches so far their defence was very poor but today all of their defenders have been playing very well.

From all I've seen so far, not just in this match, whoever wins here will be sitting ducks against Spain. Just like they'd have been against France really. But yeah, I'd want Argentina through for Messi. Very much unlike Portugal, who I didn't want through because of that Ronaldo who keeps thinking the world of himself and was just infuriating because of it even when he was still a great player, not to mention now.
England 1, Argentina 0!

England 1 Argentina 1
Enzo Fernandezzzzzz let's go.!!! As I've said Argentina has better substitutions compared to England. So many bad decisions from Tuchel which instead of going for a 2nd goal now that Argentina would have played more offensively they decided to switch to a 5-3-2 and then a 5-4-1 formation only to defend and nothing else...Hopefully they get eliminated..Even if they do go to the final if they play like this against Spain they don't stand a chance.

Yeah they were hoping to hang on to that lead.

No chance. 2-1 now.

LAUTAROOOOO and England are out. Football has won against what England decided to play in the 2nd half..
Wow and just like that, 2-1 Argentina
England you can still do it!

What happened.... I looked away when England was leading!
Game just ended. How did I miss 2 goals in just 10 minutes!
Messi is a magician!

*shrug* With how Argentina played the final part of matches, I was hardly even worried, especially after seeing England's substitutions that just invited a siege.

Care to elaborate?
